Creative children from low-income families and developing countries cannot afford to participate in the World Children’s Festival without the support of host families in the Greater Washington Area. Traditionally, U.S. military families have hosted our international delegates at their homes for the festival week.
The International Child Art Foundation requests you to be a host family for an Official Delegate to the WCF2015. You can decide whether you want to host just one child and a parent, a family of three or four, or one or two schoolteachers at your home, making it possible for them to come to our nation’s capital to participate in the WCF2015. You can select the region or country of your preference. You will have the opportunity to communicate with a prospective family via email, phone or Skype a month prior to their arrival.
The delegates will arrive on Monday, June 29th and depart on Sunday, July 5th. Host families receive their guests at the airport and then drop them off at the airport when they return home. Host families are obliged to arrange one meal for the guests on the day they, otherwise the delegates are told to arrange their own meals. Host families may decide to drive the guests to the WCF on the first day, as the delegates are told to make their own local transport arrangement. Host families are honored guests at the WCF on The National Mall. Host families can choose to attend the World Children’s Awards Banquet at a discounted ticket price. Host families are presented Certificates of Appreciation at the Banquet.
